A drunken driver who killed a passenger almost 21 years ago has allegedly been involved in a second instance of driving under the influence since then.

Steven Jay Wilson, 46, pleaded not guilty Monday to felony driving under the influence and second-degree driving on a suspended license. He was convicted last year of felony DUI and in 1991 was driving drunk when he crashed his car into a tree in Pierce County, killing one of his passengers, Gretchen Wilson.

His latest charge stems from an incident Friday in the 5600 block of Pacific Avenue of Tacoma. Two police officers noticed him driving erratically and pulled him over. Wilson was visibly shaking and slurring so much that the officers had to ask him his name three times, according to charging documents.

He also allegedly was belligerent and yelled at the arresting officers.
