A 27-year-old Auburn woman who prompted a three-day search after going missing from a Pacific park left willingly with an unidentified man, Pacific police said Wednesday.
A search was launched last weekend after Tatyana Khmara’s family reported her missing when she didn’t show up for work Saturday. Concern grew after officers found Khmara’s car at the park and her brother reported seeing her with an unknown man the night before.
She called her family Monday and told detectives she didn’t know where she was or how she got there. Khmara was found in Kitsap County and reunited with her family.
Police spokeswoman Stephanie Shook said no crime was committed. It does not appear Khmara will be held responsible for costs incurred by Pacific police and the King County sheriff’s search and rescue team. Divers and a helicopter aided in the search.
“These are outstanding volunteers who are not paid that gave of their time freely to look for Tatyana and assist us in many invaluable ways,” Shook said.
