 • It’s a day for the dogs at the annual Pups in the Park event today from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. It features dog contests including Best Trick, Best Costume and Peanutbutter Lick, along with pet vendors. It will also feature Skyhoundz Northwest Regional Championship with flying-disc dogs from eight states. Cirque Bridgeport Park, 7250 Cirque Drive W., University Place.  • Rock lovers will want to check out the annual Tailgate Rock Sale and Swap Meet from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. today at the Shelton Soccer Park parking lot, 2102 E. Johns Prairie Road, Shelton. There will be gems, rocks and minerals to browse. Admission and parking is free; tailgaters fee is $15 with preregistration; 360-426-6114.

 • Enjoy the acoustic sounds at the annual Olalla Bluegrass Festival, billed as a family event featuring local and national bluegrass artists, food, handmade arts and crafts, old time craft demonstrations, a wide variety of activities for children, and the legendary Berry Pie Contest. It’s from 11 a.m.-dusk today at the South Kitsap Southern Little League Field, Southeast Hovgaard Road and Southeast Olalla Valley Road in Olalla. Tickets are $15 for adults, seniors/kids $10, parking is $3 (cash only); olallabluegrass.com.
