Two police officers shot and seriously wounded a Tacoma man after he held a dozen people hostage inside a Lakewood credit union Saturday, then tried to flee while holding his estranged wife at gunpoint.

Two police officers shot and wounded a Tacoma man as he tried to force a woman at gunpoint from a Lakewood credit union today.

The suspect – a Tacoma resident in his late 40s who police did not identify – was taken to a hospital for treatment, Lt. Jeff Alwine said.
