Anglers looking for a different location might want to consider Lake Wenatchee. The state has extended the sockeye salmon season there through Labor Day and increased the daily bag limit.
The change is effective until one hour after sunset Sept. 3.
The daily limit per angler will be five sockeye 12 inches in length or greater.
As of Aug. 17, an estimated 46,000 fish have migrated past Tumwater Dam en route to Lake Wenatchee. Projections of the total run could exceed 62,000 fish, said a state Department of Fish and Wildlife news release.
Go to wdfw.wa.gov for details on the fishery.
