Question: “Are they ever going to restripe the Sixth and Division intersection? The lanes are difficult to identify in dark and rainy weather. Also, several other intersections in the Stadium District are in need of the same.” -- David Oxford, Tacoma

Answer: The city’s on top of it, says Tacoma transportation engineer Josh Diekmann.

Maintenance on the striping along Sixth Avenue was completed earlier this month, Diekmann said. Work has not yet been done on Division, he said. It’s been scheduled and the contractor should be finished by the end of the summer.

“The city completes maintenance on approximately half of the roads each year,” Diekmann said. “Work planned for this year primarily includes the downtown and much of the North End, West End and Central areas.”

That includes the intersections in the Stadium District.

Diekmann invites anyone with questions about the proposed striping work or striping at other locations to call him at 253-591-5756.
