The New England Patriots released five players on Monday, including wide receivers Jabar Gaffney and Donte' Stallworth.
Gaffney has caught 443 passes for 5,622 yards and 24 touchdowns in 155 career games with Houston, New England, Denver and Washington.
Stallworth has registered 320 receptions for 4,774 yards and 34 touchdowns in 114 career games with New Orleans, Philadelphia, New England, Cleveland, Baltimore and Washington.
Defensive linemen Gerard Warren and Tim Bulman and defensive back Ross Ventrone were the other players released.
The Patriots also placed defensive back Will Allen, safety Josh Barrett and fullback Spencer Larsen on injured reserve, placed tight end Jake Ballard and defensive lineman Myron Pryor on the physically unable to perform list, placed offensive lineman Markus Zusevics on the reserve/non-football injury list and claimed wide receiver Kerry Taylor off waivers from the Minnesota Vikings.
