The Washington National Guard on Wednesday opened a new intelligence sharing hub at Camp Murray that could be used to support military operations all over the world.

The $1.5 million Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility gives the National Guard a safe place to work with classified information. The Guard describes it as the military’s only joint intelligence analysis center in Washington.

It is expected to support military operations in the Pacific, Middle East and South America. It also could be used by the National Security Agency and the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Camp Murray is the Washington National Guard headquarters south of Tacoma.
