UPS volleyball defeats Southwestern (Texas) in straight sets

The Puget Sound Loggers defeated No. 19 Southwestern (Texas) in straight sets, 25-20, 25-17, 25-16, to open the second day of the Puget Sound Premier hosted by the University of Puget Sound.

Nicolette Reynaud had 12 kills with 4 digs and Jackie Harvey had 10 kills with 9 digs for the Loggers. Christina Chun racked up 21 digs and Karly Edwards had 16 digs on the defense side of the ball. Jenni Brehove had 40 assists along with 2 kills, 6 digs and 2 service aces.

Rachel Thibodeau had 10 kills and 8 digs for Southwestern (0-3).

Puget Sound defeated St. Olaf 3-0 and UC Santa Cruz 3-2 on Friday.

The Loggers (3-0) will play No. 25 Pacific Lutheran tonight at 5 p.m. to close out the tournament.
