Here are local holiday schedules for Labor Day:
• Federal, state, city and county offices will be closed.
• All Tacoma Public Library and Pierce County Library branches will be closed.
• Most post offices will be closed.
• Pierce Transit bus service will run on its Sunday schedule. Sound Transit, including express buses and light rail, will run on Sunday schedules.
• Garbage will be picked up on the usual schedule, and the Tacoma landfill will be open from 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

Government offices and public schools will be closed Monday, Jan 21, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which honors King's birthday. Grocery stores, Bellis Fair, most retail stores and restaurants will be open.
