The Baltimore Ravens have signed safety James Ihedigbo.

The 28-year-old confirmed the signing on his Twitter account, tweeting "Fresh start...God is good..honored to be a Baltimore Raven!!!! #blackandpurple".

Ihedigbo, entering his fifth season in the league, played for the New York Jets from 2008-2010 and 12 games last season for the New England Patriots.

Cut by the Patriots on Friday, Ihedigbo appeared in all 16 games in 2011, registering a career high 69 tackles and has 118 tackles over 53 games.

The Ravens have yet to announce a corresponding roster move to balance out the 53-man roster.
