 • It’s time to “Do the Puyallup.” The The Puyallup Fair opens Friday with the Free Gate Food deal from 9 a.m.-noon; a food item will gain you free admittance. Check the daily fair schedule in the local section to find out what’s happening. Puyallup Fair & Events Center, 110 Ninth Ave. S.W., Puyallup. Adults: $12.50; Students (6-18): $9; Seniors (62+): $9; Five and younger free. 253-841-5045, thefair.com. The fair runs through Sept. 23.

 • If you are living with a loved one dealing with Alzheimer’s, you might want to find out about the Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Groups being held throughout the area. Two groups meet today: noon-1:30 p.m. at Auburn Church Of The Nazarene, 1225 29th St. S.E., Auburn, 253-854-7658, and 1-3 p.m. at the Tacoma Public Library-South Tacoma Branch, 3411 S. 56th St., Tacoma. 253-922-3221.
