Buckley man killed when dirt bike hits vehicle

A 23-year-old Buckley man was killed Monday evening when the dirt bike he was operating crashed into a parked vehicle in the Bonney Lake area, authorities said.

A 23-year-old Buckley man was killed Monday evening when the dirt bike he was operating crashed into a parked vehicle in the Bonney Lake area, authorities said.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Zachary Rice.

The accident took place around 5 p.m. in the 20200 block of Rhododendron Drive East. Firefighters arrived to find the dirt bike operator dead at the scene, according to East Pierce Fire & Rescue.

Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies were investigating the cause of the accident Monday.
