Bonney Lake man accidentally shoots self at Packwood firing range

A Bonney Lake man was transported to Harborview Medical Center after he accidentally shot himself in the leg while reloading his gun at a firing range near Packwood Monday night, according to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.

A Bonney Lake man was transported to Harborview Medical Center after he accidentally shot himself in the leg while reloading his gun at a firing range near Packwood Monday night, according to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to Morton General Hospital at 9:40 p.m. before the man was transported to Harborview with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff's office. The 60-year-old man told police he was at the firing range on Cannon Road and was reloading his .22-caliber gun when it accidentally discharged into his leg.

The man then drove himself to the office of his brother-in-law, who took him to the hospital.
