Three masked men held up a U.S. Bank branch in Lakewood on Thursday.
The takeover robbery occurred about 9:25 a.m. at the bank at 9310 Bridgeport Way. The robbers wore masks. At least one was seen with a gun.
The men jumped over the counter, forced employees and customers to the floor and demanded money. Witnesses reported seeing them flee in a blue Buick, which officers found abandoned near the bank with its doors wide open.
“We know it’s the right car,” police Lt. Chris Lawler said.
The car was processed for evidence, and police obtained surveillance footage from the bank cameras.
No one was injured during the robbery.
