An 89-year-old World War II veteran who was reported missing from Puyallup on Tuesday has been found safe in Eastern Washington.

Roy Alldritt’s roommate told Pierce County sheriff’s deputies that he drove her to a medical center in Seattle, and when she came out of the building 15 minutes later, he and his pickup were gone.

Alldritt suffers from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

He was spotted Wednesday night in the Grant County city of George. He was in his truck with his dog but was disoriented and did not know where he was, authorities said.

Alldritt was taken to a hospital in Quincy to be evaluated.
