The Houston Texans signed quarterback Matt Schaub to a contract extension Sunday.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but it is reported to be a four-year deal worth $62 million with $24.75 million guaranteed.

Houston acquired Schaub in a trade with the Atlanta Falcons on March 22, 2007 and he has started 64 games for the club.

Coming into Sunday's game, the 31-year-old held franchise records in 300-yard games (23), passing yards (16,903), passing touchdowns (92), completions (1,382) and wins (32).

His best season came in 2009 when he threw for 4,770 yards and 29 touchdowns while completing 67.9 percent of his passes to earn his lone Pro Bowl appearance.

A third-round draft choice by the Falcons in 2004, Schaub has thrown for 17,936 yards and 98 touchdowns over 102 career games with Atlanta and Houston.

The Texans also signed defensive end Tim Jamison to a contract extension following the team's 30-10 season-opening victory over the Miami Dolphins.

Houston signed Jamison as an undrafted free agent in 2009 and he has appeared in 32 games for the Texans, amassing 36 tackles and three sacks coming into Sunday's game.
