 • Get some fresh air and join the Capitol Volkssport Club when they do the University Place Walk today. Meet at 9:15 a.m. Martin Way Park & Ride, Martin Way E., Lacey or, for those closer to University Place, meet at 10 a.m. at Forza Coffee, 4828 Bridgeport Way in University Place. There will be a 10K walk with 12K option, rated 2. Free, capitolvolkssportclub.org.

 • Support local arts and museums at the Tacoma ArtWalk tonight from 5-8 p.m. Museums will be open late, admission is free.

    Suzuki's lecture is called "Time is Running Out: Ecology or Economics?" and will take place at noon at WWU's Performing Arts Center Concert Hall. The talk is free and open to the public.

    Suzuki has worked as a radio and television host, explaining natural sciences in an understandable way, and has written more than 50 books. He is currently a professor emeritus at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
