A woman rescued from a two-alarm garage fire in Edgewood on Wednesday suffered life-threatening injuries, according to East Pierce Fire & Rescue.
Firefighters were called at 12:50 p.m. to a three-story house in the 11200 block of 38th Street Court East, where they found smoke coming from the garage of the home.
The woman, who lived in an apartment above the garage, was taken to the hospital. The owner of the home and several children escaped without injuries.
The flames didn’t reach the house, but it sustained smoke damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to East Pierce.
