Johnson & Johnson is hiring Bayer CropScience head Sandra E. Peterson for a new post, overseeing the troubled consumer health and manufacturing operations, plus information technology. She starts Dec. 1.
New CEO Alex Gorsky wants Peterson to tackle key priorities — business building and fixing manufacturing quality problems, particularly in the consumer health business. They’ve led to dozens of product recalls, lost sales and costly factory upgrades. J&J rarely hires outsiders for senior executive positions.
