The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have re-signed offensive lineman Derek Hardman, the team announced Friday.
Hardman, a third-year guard/tackle out of Eastern Kentucky University, played in nine games for the Bucs in 2010 -- making four starts -- and three games in 2011. He was with Tampa for this year's preseason camp, but was cut during the final roster pare down.
His signing comes in the wake of injuries to left guard Carl Nicks and right tackle Jeremy Trueblood, who are both uncertain for this week's game against the Giants.
To clear space on the roster, the Bucs released defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry, who played in 53 games for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2008-11.
