The following convicted sex offenders have recently registered to live in Pierce County.
Each is categorized as a Level 3 sex offender – those considered most likely to commit similar crimes. None is wanted by law enforcement officers at this time.
All convicted sex offenders registered to live in Tacoma and Pierce County are listed on the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department’s website at www.piercesheriff.org.
Irvin B. Lyle
Age: 60.
Description: 5 feet 9 and 165 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.
Where registered to live: 1500 block of South 85th Street, Tacoma.
Criminal history: Convicted in 1991 of first-degree rape for sexually assaulting a woman at knifepoint and threatening to kill her.
Sex offender treatment: He did not participate in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Ronald L. Vandermey
Age: 59.
Description: 5 feet 10 and 135 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Where registered to live: 3700 block of McKinley Avenue, Tacoma.
Criminal history: Convicted in 1991 of first-degree child molestation in Whatcom County for assaulting a young boy he knew. He has also been convicted of indecent liberties and failing to register as a sex offender six times in Pierce County.
Sex offender treatment: He participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Matthew Q. Shoop
Age: 26.
Description: 5 feet 10 and 220 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.
Where registered to live: 1900 block of South Sheridan Avenue, Tacoma.
Criminal history: Convicted in 1999 of third-degree rape in Kitsap County for sexually assaulting a young boy. He was also convicted in 2003 of second-degree assault with sexual motivation in Pierce County for assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
Sex offender treatment: It’s unknown whether he participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.
