State and local agencies and groups are hosting an event Saturday that focuses on water quality in Minter Creek Watershed. Local professionals will talk about what they know about area water quality, what factors affect the area and what local residents can do to maintain and improve water quality. There will be activities for children and adults, including games for the kids, presentations for adults, informative exhibits, a forest walk and a development walk.
The event will be from 1-4:30 p.m., with field trip walks between 4:30-5:30 p.m. It will take place at Minter Creek Elementary School, 12617 118th Ave. NW, Gig Harbor.
This free event is funded by a grant from the state Department of Ecology and presented by Harbor WildWatch, the Kitsap County WSU Extension, Pierce County Shellfish Partners, the Pierce Conservation District, Washington Sea Grant and the Pierce County Health Department.
