The Tampa Bay Buccaneers re-signed wide receiver Tiquan Underwood on Thursday and parted ways with wideout Preston Parker.

Underwood, who played for Bucs' first-year coach Greg Schiano at Rutgers, was with Tampa Bay during training camp before being waived during final cuts on Aug. 31.

Last year, Underwood appeared in six games for the New England Patriots before he was infamously cut the night before their Super Bowl XLVI loss to the New York Giants.

Underwood has 11 career catches for 141 yards over three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Patriots.

Parker, who suffered a foot injury during Sunday's 41-34 loss to the Giants, appeared in all 16 games with the Bucs in 2011 and tallied career highs in catches (40), yards (554) and touchdowns (three).

The North Alabama product signed with Tampa Bay in 2010 as an undrafted free agent.
