Play to Learn offers fun for children, caregivers

Playing around is always free, but sometimes it helps young kids and their caregivers to have something a little more structured. Enter the Children’s Museum of Tacoma: For years now, this institution has been reaching out to the community with free Play to Learn sessions.

Playing around is always free, but sometimes it helps young kids and their caregivers to have something a little more structured. Enter the Children’s Museum of Tacoma: For years now, this institution has been reaching out to the community with free Play to Learn sessions.

The sessions are for those ages 6 and younger and those who look after them: parents, grandparents, neighbors, family and friends. With a new theme each week, they offer individual play with tactile toys from the museum, group activities, songs and circle time. Here are the times and places:

10-11:30 a.m. Sept. 21 and 28, Peace Community Center, 2106 S. Cushman Ave., Tacoma.

10-11:30 a.m. Sept. 24 and Oct. 1, Annie Wright School, 827 N. Tacoma Ave., Tacoma.

1:30-3 p.m. Sept. 24 and Oct. 1, South Hill Pierce County Library, 15420 Meridian Ave. E., South Hill.

10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Sept. 25, Charles Wright Academy, 7723 Chambers Creek Road W., University Place.

10-11:30 a.m. Sept. 26, Parkland Spanaway Pierce County Library, 13718 Pacific Ave. S., Tacoma.

1:30-3 p.m. Sept. 26, Graham Pierce County Library, 9202 224th St. E., Graham.

1:30-3 p.m. Sept. 27, Portland Avenue Community Center, 3513 E. Portland Ave., Tacoma.
