Kevin Kolb came back to haunt his former team, throwing for 222 yards and two touchdowns, as the Arizona Cardinals took down the Philadelphia Eagles, 27-6.

The Cardinals, who scored 24 points in the first half on Sunday, are 3-0 for the first time since 1974, when the franchise was still based in St. Louis.

Kolb, who completed 17-of-24 passes, was traded from the Eagles to Arizona in August of 2011, but his tenure with the Cardinals has mostly been marred by injuries and inconsistent play.

The sixth-year pro was edged out for the starting job by the lesser- credentialed John Skelton during this year's preseason, though an ankle sprain the latter suffered in the team's Week 1 matchup with Seattle pressed Kolb back into duty. The Eagles and Cardinals squared off in Philadelphia last season, but Kolb missed the game with a sprained toe.

"I'm going to enjoy it, don't get me wrong," Kolb said about beating his former team. "But the biggest thing is being 3-0. To be 3-0 against the teams we have played and the fashion that we have won, it has been exciting."

Ryan Williams carried the ball 13 times for 83 yards for Arizona, which has won 10 of its last 12 games dating back to the midway point of last season. Larry Fitzgerald hauled in nine passes for 114 yards and a score.

Michael Vick completed 17-of-37 passes for 217 yards for the Eagles (2-1), who became the first team in NFL history to begin a season with two one-point wins.

LeSean McCoy carried the ball 13 times for 70 yards for Philadelphia, which had won six in a row dating back to last season. Damaris Johnson caught five passes for 84 yards.

"They played better than we did," Eagles coach Andy Reid said. "Clearly better. Coached better, they played better. That's my responsibility. I didn't have my football team ready to play. They did. My hat's off to them."

Kolb started Arizona's first possession of the game with passes of 14 and 16 yards to Andre Roberts and Fitzgerald, respectively. The Eagles' defense, though, did not break and forced the Cardinals to settle for a 47-yard Jay Feely field goal.

Philadelphia's turnover problems continued after forcing Arizona to punt. Johnson fumbled the punt and the Cardinals recovered the ball at the 38-yard line of the Eagles.

Arizona capitalized with an eight-play, 38-yard scoring drive. Roberts caught a 12-yard pass on 3rd-and-8 to move the chains. Just five plays later, Michael Floyd hauled in an 8-yard TD pass. Kolb fired the ball between a pair of defenders and Floyd made a juggling catch.

The Cardinals failed to take advantage of a Vick fumble early in the second stanza. But with 7:30 left in the half, Kolb used the play-action pass to hook with Fitzgerald on a 37-yard score. Fitzgerald made a nice diving catch and rolled across the goal line to make it 17-0.

The turning point of the game occurred at the end of the half. Johnson caught a 26-yard pass and Vick recorded a 20-yard run, helping Philadelphia reach the 1-yard line. With 16 seconds left and no timeouts, Vick threw a pair of incomplete passes. On 3rd-and-goal, Kerry Rhodes came on a blitz and drilled Vick. The ball bounced into the hands of James Sanders, who sprinted 93 yards down the left sideline for a touchdown.

The Eagles, who came into the game as the top-ranked offense in the league, started to move the ball in the second half. Philadelphia got the ball down to the Arizona 18-yard line, but settled for a 36-yard Alex Henery field goal.

After the Cardinals went three-and-out, the Eagles marched the ball down the field again. This time around, the visitors got to the 22-yard line before settling for a 40-yard Henery field goal.

Philadelphia's last chance at a comeback came early in the fourth quarter. On 3rd-and-9 from the Arizona 31, Vick was called for intentional grounding. The penalty resulted in a 4th-and-29 near midfield. The Eagles punted the ball away.

Feely made a 27-yard field goal on the ensuing Cardinals possession, making it a 27-6 game with 3:52 to play.

Colin Kaepernick threw for two touchdowns in his first career start and a smothering San Francisco defense gave the 49ers an emphatic 32-7 win over the Chicago Bears on Monday night. Playing in place of an injured Alex Smith, who is suffering from a concussion he sustained in last week's tie against the Rams, Kaepernick went 16-for-23 for 243 yards and led the 49ers (7-2-1) to scores on their first four possessions. Smith passed the NFL's ImPACT testing protocol and was able to practice in a limited fashion by Thursday. He reportedly planned on playing Monday night, but was ruled out earlier in the day after being evaluated by 49ers medical director Dr. Dan Garza. The San Francisco defense, meanwhile, held the Bears to just 151 yards and pummeled Jason Campbell all game. Second-year linebacker Aldon Smith posted 5 1/2 sacks, and the team finished with six along with two interceptions and a safety in the win. San Francisco head coach Jim Harbaugh was on the sidelines after being sent to the hospital last Thursday with an irregular heartbeat. He had a cardioversion procedure done on his heart, which is an electric shock that restores the heart's normal rhythm, and was back on the practice field on Friday. Campbell made his first start of the season in place of Jay Cutler, who suffered a concussion due to a helmet-to-helmet hit from Houston linebacker Tim Dobbins in last week's loss to the Texans. Campbell, though, didn't fare nearly as well as his counterpart, as he went just 14-for-22 with 107 yards and a touchdown along with the two picks for the Bears (7-3), who dropped their second straight to fall into a tie with Green Bay for first place in the NFC North.
