A Tacoma middle school administrator accused of failing to stop a fight between two students has resigned.

Tacoma Public Schools spokesman Dan Voelpel said Monday that the man resigned his position at First Creek Middle School on Sept. 19. The administrator had been on paid leave pending a school district investigation of the Sept. 11 incident, but quit before the investigation could be completed, Voelpel said. He said the district suspended its investigation and notified Tacoma police about the incident.

A parent of one of the boys involved in the fight had claimed that the administrator encouraged them to go outside and fight instead of breaking it up.
