Cleveland Browns kick returner Joshua Cribbs left Thursday's matchup with the Baltimore Ravens in the first quarter after suffering a head injury.

Midway through the first stanza, Cribbs fielded a punt at the Cleveland 26 and returned it 14 yards before taking a shoulder to the helmet from Ravens linebacker Dannell Ellerbe.

Cribbs not only lost his helmet on the hit, but also lost control of the ball on his way to the ground.

The 8-year pro smacked the back of his head hard on the turf, where he remained motionless as Baltimore linebacker Jameel McClain pounced on the loose ball.

The training staff came out to check on Cribbs, who was able to walk to the bench under his own power before making his way to the visitor's locker room.
