Suspects in Graham killing claim sex crime revenge was motive

Pierce County prosecutors today charged a 30-year-old man with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery and first-degree kidnapping in the death of a Lakewood resident whose body was dumped in Graham last month. Prosecutors contend Jeffrey Wayne Powell II and at least four other people were involved in the abduction, robbery, beating and strangulation of Dean Barker, 51.
