Simon Little has been appointed vice president and commercial lending officer for Valley Bank. He will be responsible for managing the commercial lending services at its Canyon Road office at 12803 Canyon Road E., in Puyallup. Little has more than 19 years of experience in the banking industry with extensive background in commercial real estate as well as commercial and industrial lending. Before joining Valley Bank, he was a commercial loan officer with Westside Community Bank.
ENGINEERING
Swenson Say Faget Structural Engineers, headquartered in Tacoma, has announced the return of structural engineer Bart Blans to the Seattle office. He worked with the company from 1999 to 2006 and then joined Arup in Istanbul, Turkey, then transferred to Arup’s Amsterdam office, where he worked for four years. Blans holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, and a master’s degree in Construction Management from the University of Washington. He has more than 20 years of engineering and project management experience with of a variety of project types.
HEALTHCARE
Dr. Steven Brady, board-certified ophthalmologist, has recently joined Cascade Eye & Skin Centers. He received his bachelor’s degree from the United States Naval Academy and his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Brady’s transitional internship and ophthalmology residency were completed at Madigan Army Medical Center, while his glaucoma fellowship was completed in Seattle at Swedish Hospital. He most recently served as director of glaucoma service and was previously director of cataract service at Madigan.
AWARDS/RECOGNITION
Dr. Nicholas Rajacich, pediatric orthopedic surgeon in Tacoma, was recently elected president of the Washington State Medical Association. The association represents more than 9,800 physicians, residents, medical students and physician assistants throughout Washington state. Rajacich was elected by the association’s House of Delegates at their annual meeting.
