State Auditor-elect Troy Kelley was fined $200 Thursday by the Public Disclosure Commission for what the commission described as “relatively minor” violations of state disclosure laws.
A state audit found money that was supposed to be kept in the custody of the Department of Corrections and used on inmates’ behalf was actually going directly to an inmate, and in another case, an inmate’s community-corrections officer.
State Auditor Troy Kelley has been called to active-duty military service. His office said he is in South Korea on a roughly two-week trip that started early this week.
