The New York Jets announced the signing of fullback Lex Hilliard on Monday.
Hilliard was a sixth-round selection of the Miami Dolphins back in 2008. He spent three seasons in Miami before signing with the Minnesota Vikings this past offseason. He was waived at the end of the preseason and joined the New England Patriots before being cut on Sept. 19.
He has appeared in 50 NFL games, with four starts, and has rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns. He has also caught 26 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns in his career.
In a corresponding roster move, the Jets have waived wide receiver Patrick Turner. New York also released defensive back Donnie Fletcher from the practice squad and signed wide receiver Jordan White to replace him.
