Retailers aren’t the only employers beefing up their work forces for the coming holiday season.
The U.S. Postal Service announced Tuesday that it is hiring temporary employees to work during the upcoming holiday mailing season at mail processing facilities across Washington.
Mailhandler positions are available at the following locations – Seattle Christmas Facility (near Sea-Tac Airport); Priority Mail Annex in Kent; Network Distribution Center in Federal Way and at the processing and distribution facilities in Seattle, Everett, Tacoma, Olympia, Wenatchee, Yakima, Pasco and Spokane.
The non-career positions pay $11 an hour, and there are no benefits. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident. The number of hours worked will depend on mail volume.
All applicants must be at least age 18 at the time of hire (or be 16 with a high school diploma).
Applicants must apply for the positions online at the Postal Service’s website, www.usps.com/employment. Go to Washington State and then select Casual 07 for available positions in the state.
