A 41-year-old transient was arrested Monday in Tacoma after allegedly hitting another man in the head with a hammer.
The attack occurred about 4:25 p.m. outside a restroom in the 1800 block of Dock Street, police said.
Officers responded and found the 62-year-old victim suffering from serious head wounds. The man, also a transient, told police an argument broke out after his attacker asked for change.
The man with the hammer told officers he was angry at the victim because he thought he had thrown dirt in his dinner last week, police spokesman Mark Fulghum said.
