The Kansas City Chiefs placed tight end Kevin Boss on injured reserve Wednesday.

Boss suffered a concussion in the second game of the season at Buffalo. He caught three passes for 65 yards and a touchdown in two games this season.

"Alright, we had a roster move today. The doctors informed us that they were not going to clear Kevin Boss to play football the rest of this year, so we put him on IR and so that gave us a roster spot," Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel said.

The 28-year-old Western Oregon product has caught 150 passes for 2,033 yards and 22 touchdowns in 74 career games with the Giants, Raiders and Chiefs.

The Chiefs used the roster spot to sign Bryan Kehl, a linebacker out of BYU.

Crennel also said running back Peyton Hillis (ankle), cornerback Jalil Brown (hamstring), and defensive ends Glenn Dorsey (calf) and Ropati Pitoitua (elbow) would not practice Wednesday.
