wednesday’s highlights

Tasi Peredo (14 kills, 11 digs, 2 aces) and Brianna Glass (16 assists, 8 kills, 2 aces) helped lead No. 10-ranked Washington (10-0 overall, 9-0 SPSL 2A) to a three-set victory over last season’s league volleyball champion White River at home, 25-17, 25-19, 25-17.

The scoring of Jayden Todd (six goals), Nolan Peterson (three goals) and Giles McIntire (three goals) helped Curtis (10-0 overall, 4-0 SPSL South 4A) remain undefeated in boys water polo after a 16-10 victory over Puyallup (3-3, 2-2). Lane Griffin led Puyallup scoring with six goals.

Puyallup junior setter Olyvia Johnson (5 kills, 2 aces, 15 of 15 serving) picked up 10 assists in the opening set to lead the No. 10 4A Vikings to a home SPSL South volleyball win over Bethel, 25-19, 25-17, 25-17. Maddie Davis had 12 kills, and Mackenzie March led had 22 assists in the Vikings win.

Bonney Lake’s Curtis Koltermann and Quinn Williams each shot 2-over 38 at High Cedars to share medalist honors as the Panthers edged Decatur, 73-72, in an SPSL 3A boys golf match.

Bethel’s Steve Cagle defeated Emerald Ridge’s Derek Cane, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, in No. 1 singles, but the host Jaguars countered with Griffin Toyoda’s 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles and two wins in doubles to beat the Braves, 3-2, in an SPSL South 4A boys tennis match.
