Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III left Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons after taking a hard hit to the head.

Facing a 3rd-and-3 at the Atlanta 3-yard line, Griffin took the snap in the shotgun and went around the right end, heading for the sideline. He went into a slide and was hit in the head by Falcons linebacker Sean Weatherspoon.

Griffin sat up and walked off the field under his own power, but was escorted to the locker room to be evaluated for concussion symptoms.

Rookie Kirk Cousins took over under center on the Redskins next offensive drive.
