 • Learn from Pierce County Public Works and Utilities Environmental Educators and get your environmental questions answered at the Simply Sustainable Series workshops taking place at Chambers Creek Environmental Learning Center, 9850 64th St. W., University Place. They are held from 6-8 p.m. starting tonight and every Tuesday through Oct. 23. The series is $10 and $5 for additional family members to attend.  • For all you photo buffs, here’s an opportunity to hone your skills. Learn from experts at the Outdoor Photography Basics class tonight from 6:30-8:30 at REI Tacoma, 3825 S. Steele St., Tacoma. REI Outdoor School instructors will introduce composition techniques and demystify some camera functions. Learn how to eliminate distractions, use line and texture and the Rule of Thirds to create more dynamic images. Admission is $30 members or $50 nonmembers.
