The Washington Redskins released veteran kicker Billy Cundiff on Tuesday and signed free agent kicker Kai Forbath.

Cundiff has connected on just 7-of-12 field goal attempts this season after signing with the Redskins as a free agent in the offseason.

Over nine seasons with Dallas, New Orleans, Cleveland, Baltimore and Washington, Cundiff has made 139 of his 184 field goal tries and missed just one of his 218 extra-point attempts in 106 career games.

Forbath, 25, went undrafted in 2011 out of UCLA, but was signed by the Cowboys before spending the year on injured reserve.
