A man suspected of fatally shooting a partygoer at a Tacoma house early Sunday has been booked into the Pierce County Jail.
Tacoma police arrested the man Monday night outside Sea-Tac Airport. Police spokesman Mark Fulghum said it was unclear whether the man was trying to catch a flight.
The News Tribune is not naming him because he has not been charged with a crime. He is expected to be charged today.
The shooting happened about 12:45 a.m. Sunday at a house in the 2000 block of South 29th Street.
Witnesses told detectives the shooter arrived and got into an argument with the victim, 30-year-old Jimmy Arevalo. It’s unclear what the disagreement was about, but the man pulled a handgun and fired one round into the ground. He then shot Arevalo several times and fled, police said.
