Man struck by car in Puyallup, sustains traumatic injuries

A 77-year-old man suffered traumatic injuries when he was struck by a car while crossing a street Friday in Puyallup, police said.

A 77-year-old man suffered traumatic injuries when he was struck by a car while crossing a street Friday in Puyallup, police said.

Officers were called to the 300 block of Fifth Street Northwest at 9:36 p.m., where they learned the man was hit by a car heading south as he was crossing the street after leaving the Puyallup Eagles Club.

The victim was taken to Tacoma General Hospital.

The car was driven by a 58-year-old Pierce County man who was not hurt. He had not used alcohol or drugs, police said.
