A break from the rain for the next week or so comes with a cost: ice, fog and chillier than usual temperatures.
Get ready for the rain. Forecasters said it could last through the week and possibly cause flooding, especially at higher elevations.
A “vigorous” incoming storm is expected to bring strong winds and rain to Western Washington through Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain, possibly mixed with freezing rain, is in the forecast for the Tri-Cities through 10 a.m. this morning.
Ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch were possible from Thursday night through this morning, according to the National Weather Service. Roads could be icy, particularly Interstate 82 from the Oregon border to Sunnyside, according to the weather service.
Unsettled weather conditions with possible rain are expected to continue through the weekend into early next week.
Forecasters warn of icy roads this morning that are likely to worsen as rain moves in. Federal Way schools announced a late start.
