The Chicago Bears announced on Monday that they have waived running back Kahlil Bell.
Drafted by Chicago in 2009, Bell was released in the preseason, but was re-signed after Week 2 of the current campaign. In two games, Bell saw just 12 carries and rushed for 32 yards.
Last season, the UCLA product ran for 337 yards on 79 carries, while also catching 19 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown. In 22 games over three seasons, Bell rolled up 589 yards on 131 carries with 148 yards on 21 receptions and one score.
In a corresponding roster move, the Bears signed tight end Brody Eldridge, who most recently played for the Indianapolis Colts in 2011. Over two seasons, he started 16 of 27 contests with the Colts, recording 14 catches for 84 yards.
