 • Glimpse the landscape of early 20th century Tacoma through panoramic photos that capture the people, industry, and scenic views of the city’s past at the exhibit, The Long View. Tonight will delve into the exhibit with historians Ron Karabaich and Thomas Stenger. The free event is at 6 at the Tacoma Public Library Main Branch, Olympic Room, 1102 Tacoma Ave. S., Tacoma.

 • Want to get out and explore more of the great outdoors? Plan to attend the workshop, Map & Compass Navigation Basics, where you will learn basic navigation skills to find your way.  • The Enumclaw Oktoberfest takes place this Friday and Saturday. The beer festival includes 32 beers, brewing, brats and some Bavarian charm, along with live music, lederhosen, dirndls and more. Head out to the Enumclaw Expo Center, 45224 284th Ave. SE, Enumclaw for the fun. Hours are 4-10 p.m. Friday and noon-10 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $20 for a two-day pass.
