A woman and her dog died Wednesday on the Key Peninsula after her car crossed into oncoming traffic and hit another vehicle, injuring a mother and daughter, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The crash occurred about 9:40 a.m. on state Route 302 at 124th Avenue Court KP North.
The accident may have been caused by the dog, which was sitting in the driver’s lap, being a distraction, trooper Guy Gill said.
The woman, identified by the State Patrol as 47-year-old Patricia M. Pierce of Gig Harbor, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another woman and her 7-year-old daughter were taken to the hospital. The mother suffered serious leg injuries, but both were reported to be in stable email@example.com
