Officials seized cases of beer Friday from a medical marijuana outlet in Tacoma, after the store sold alcohol marketed as “cannabis enriched” to a minor during an undercover buy operation, according to the state Liquor Control Board.
The Hashford Compassion Club at 11220 Pacific Ave. S. does not have a license to sell alcohol, the board said.
After receiving a complaint that a minor was sold alcohol, the board organized the covert buy with the help of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department and a minor informant, who was able to purchase three bottles advertised as “Cannabis Enriched Honey Beer,” according to the board.
Board officials are pursuing only the liquor sales violation.
Evidence from the seizure was to be sent to prosecutors.
