St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - The St. Louis Rams have released offensive lineman Quinn Ojinnaka, who was benched for Sunday's game against Green Bay after starting the previous five games at left guard.

St. Louis filled the roster spot by signing offensive lineman Chris Williams, a former first-round draft pick who was released by the Chicago Bears last week.

Ojinnaka was in his first season with the Rams. He appeared in nine games with the Colts last season and played eight games for New England in 2010 after making 12 starts over four years with Atlanta.

Shelley Smith replaced Ojinnaka in the starting lineup on Sunday.

Williams, selected by the Bears with the 14th overall pick of the 2008 draft, started 38 of the 50 games he played in five seasons with Chicago. He appeared in three games as a reserve this season before being released.
