Pump It Up, the inflatables fun house for kids, plans to reopen its Tacoma branch Nov. 3.

The business at 3610 S. Pine St. near the Tacoma Police Department headquarters closed in July after the franchise owners said the business was no longer financially viable. They had operated it for seven years before the shutdown.

The new Pump It Up manager, Charlie Jensen, said the parent company has taken over the site and plans to operate it as a corporate property.

The business is accepting reservations for birthday parties and other events at its website, said Jensen.

The site’s phone system isn’t working correctly yet, but the phone provider has promised to have it working by Thursday evening, she said.

During the closure, the company updated the existing equipment and added several new inflatables, she said.

The business plans a formal grand reopening Nov. 14 after the Nov. 3 soft opening.
