The Pittsburgh Steelers have declared running back Rashard Mendenhall out for Sunday's contest against the Washington Redskins.

Mendenhall sustained an Achilles injury in Week 6 against the Tennessee Titans, forcing him to leave the game and miss last week's contest against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Running back Isaac Redman (ankle), who did not participate in Wednesday's practice session, was limited on Thursday and Friday and is listed as questionable.

Safety Troy Polamalu (calf) was declared out earlier during the week, while linebacker Brandon Johnson and tackle Marcus Gilbert also will not play.

Safety Will Allen (ankle), linebackers Chris Carter (hamstring), Adrian Robinson (concussion) and Jason Worilds (illness), center Maurkice Pouncey (knee) and kicker Shaun Suisham (ankle) are all listed as probable for Sunday.
