During its seventh annual Meet the Mammals event, the Burke Museum of Natural History will display hundreds of specimens from the mammalogy collection. There will be hands-on activities for the family; many of the specimens can be held or touched. Experts will be on hand to answer questions and talk about mammal diversity.
Highlights: A scaly anteater as the museum shows its new pangolin specimen from Singapore. Visitors can put together a life-size orca skeleton and learn about otters.
When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 17
Where: The museum is located on the University of Washington campus, at Northeast 45th Street and 17th Avenue Northeast.
Admission: $10 general, $8 senior, $7.50 student/youth. Admission is free to children 4 and younger, Burke members, UW students, faculty and staff.
